The Alleghany Education Foundation provides
scholarship and enrichment opportunities to students
in Alleghany County.
Scholarship Information
Alleghany High School Seniors may apply for numerous scholarships by using the main application form. Amounts of money awarded, as well as criteria, will vary according to the discretion of individuals or groups who provide funding for the scholarship.
Completing a scholarship application does not guarantee receipt of a scholarship. Alleghany County Educational Foundation does not discriminate on basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age or disability.
Selection criteria include financial need, extra curricular activities, rank, GPA, and/or specific college majors.

For students dedicated to community service pursuing a 2-4 year education.
For those pursuing a doctorate in veterinary medicine or education in agriculture.
For students accepted into a 2-4 year college or university pursuing a medical degree.
For students with financial need that are actively pursuing a medical degree.
For a student with limited resources pursuing a 2-4 year education.
For those pursuing a career in medicine, nursing or a related healthcare field.
For students demonstrating academic merit.
For students entering a vocational career field with a 2-year degree, or any teaching field.
For students planning to earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math field.
For students pursuing an education in mechanics, aviation, or engineering.
Senior accepted and enrolled in a junior or senior college or university
For students with financial need pursuing a degree in education.
For students from the Turkey Knob/Piney Creek Area who plan to pursue an education in forestry, wildlife, or medicine.

For relatives of members and members of the Mt. Zion community that demonstrate financial need.
For students who value community service with the potential to positively impact Western North Carolina.

Providing financial assistance to a graduate of Alleghany High School affiliated with Sparta United Methodist Church
For Alleghany High School Students pursuing a 2-4 year degree.
Special consideration given to students with immediate relatives that are retired or active duty military.
