Kathy Edwards Faw, an Alleghany native who attended Alleghany High School and UNC – Chapel Hill, made her career at the Alleghany County Department of Social Services where she worked until her death in 1998. This scholarship was created by her co-workers in honor of Kathy and her commitment to helping her fellow citizens.
