The Alleghany Education Foundation provides
scholarship and enrichment opportunities to students
in Alleghany County.
Alleghany County, a rural farming community, the 4th smallest in North Carolina, with a population of 11,000 is a "Tier Two" county. Alleghany High School graduates an average of 100 seniors each year, with approximately 77 scholarships awarded.
From 1992 to 2016, $579651 has been awarded in scholarships to North Carolina Community Colleges
In the past 14 years, hundreds of graduating seniors, many of whom have since completed college degrees, have received over $1,976,735 in scholarship aid.
In 2016, 84 students received $201,487 for college. Our current endowment is nearly $500,000.
