Alleghany County, a rural farming community, the 4th smallest in North Carolina, with a population of 11,000 is a “Tier Two” county. Alleghany High School graduates an average of 100 seniors each year, with approximately 80 scholarships awarded annually.
In the previous 20 years, hundreds of graduating seniors, many of whom have since completed college degrees, have received over $3,000,000 in scholarship aid.
In 2022, 88 students received $258,884 to further their education. Through the generosity of donors, our current endowment is nearly $7,000,000.
