Anderson Huber of Ennice, NC, formerly of Atlanta and Bedford, NY. After served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict he graduated from Cornell University in 1954 with a degree in agriculture. During his distinguished business career, he was an Executive Vice President of the First National Bank of Atlanta and a Senior Vice President with the Bank of America. He also served as Junior Warden of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, Chairman of the United Way of Atlanta, and President of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The Huber family helped Alleghany County be among the first anywhere to open the Anderson Huber Cyber Campus. This opened many opportunities for students at AHS to connect virtually with other classrooms around the world. Mrs. Frances Huber lives in Alleghany County where she contributes in so many ways! Mrs. Huber has been a loyal Alleghany Educational Foundation Board of Directors member. Mrs. Huber approaches the mission of our Foundation boldly through both her financial contributions, her creation of marketing material and her initiative to change established procedures. Mrs. Huber has helped AEF flourish through her compassion and business-sense. This scholarship rewards students for hard work and determination as well as helps those in financial need.
