Phipps, Craig Memorial Scholarship

Craig Phipps was a member of the farming community in Alleghany and Grayson Counties for his entire life. Throughout his lifetime, he milked cows, raised beef cattle, grew corn, hay, and tobacco. He loved to work with his hands, especially repairing and restoring farm equipment. He frequently took what others would deem ‘junk’ and completely rebuilt it. Many in the community sought his mechanical advice throughout his life. As most farmers are, Craig was also talented in many trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and welding. In memory of him, this scholarship supports any student pursuing a certificate, two year, or four year degree in agriculture or the trades.
